They say it’s beautiful. But then again, they say a lot of things. They say that through the looking glass, lies Wonderland. They obviously haven’t been here.
Mirrors, portals. Hundreds. Everywhere, anywhere. And they all have demons. They dwell in the darkness. Exist solely to torment. As we exist solely to prevent them. Each guardian assigned a portal, an Earthling to protect. They call us the Lost Ones. But really, we’re the only ones who aren’t. I suppose it’s because each embodies the grief and terror of an Earthling,
so we are considered consumed, lost. But, it gives clarity. Something Earthlings lack.
Portals link our world to theirs. They try to come through, we keep them in. And their demons, out. We are what separates the Earthlings from their own torturous selves. Earthlings that make it through, are driven mad, consumed. Then they become lost as well. Lost Ones in clarity.
So the reflection in the mirror. A Lost One guarding what is truly
through the looking glass.
