Ageing.
The act of growing old.
Many look to it as a bad sign
That the world Is slipping from their very hands,
That they have no control left in this world,
And all is ending in front of their eyes.

Although many think otherwise.
Many think it as a blessing,
For it is only those who aren’t so fortunate,
That envy what most others have,
And perhaps people should realise,

It’s not what material possessions you have that you should be grateful for,
But instead for the life that allows you to enjoy them.
Because although many may think it be a burden,
It’s a blessing in disguise.

For behind all of those wrinkles,
Lies a long healthy full past.
And although many may not be grateful for what they have,
You should at least be grateful for what you need.

So next time you argue about the negatives of ageing,
Think!
Think about the blessing ageing comes with,
And although it may be frustrating,
Be happy you have the privilege of growing old.
