Ink and Opinion

As we hurtle to the close of another school year, I would like to start off by thanking everyone who has contributed to the magazine, no matter how small the contribution. It has been an absolute pleasure to run this magazine for the past two years, and I relish the time I have spent at the helm. It was not an easy feat to start this magazine, but the perseverance of us all has helped push it towards this point. I do regret to say that this will be my last edition, as I step down from my role as Editor in Chief.

May is here, dear readers, and so is a new year. May to me marks the beginning of a fall into the unknown. May also represents things coming to an end, sometimes permanently, and fall can do the same. This May we celebrate the first full year that Elements has been operational, as well as the ending of my position as Editor-in-Chief, as well as my high school career.

May is such an interesting time of the year, as schools move towards a close for the summer, and childhood grows up. This May will lead into a well deserved break for all, as we come to the close of another difficult school year during some very trying times. Fall is a time to begin anew, and though Kenya does not experience fall, we will all start the next school year new people, having persevered through hard times, and geared up to persevere through it all.

The fall in this edition represents the fall into stress that many students are experiencing, as exams begin and syllabi end. For the seniors in particular, this fall begins an extended fall into the unknown, as we prepare for life beyond high school.
In the spirit of exploring the unknown, as well as a long break since our last edition, this May is truly encapsulated by fall

Enjoy.
