Darkness at night scares me. Most nights, I think someone is following me home. Like tonight, I can hear creepy sounds which make me think of the horror movies I’ve watched. But I ignore the negative thoughts, and pick up my pace to match that of Olympic athletes. A minute later I’m stopping for a break, my energy depleted. When I return to walking, the sounds seem closer. My house is not far, so I decide to run as fast as I can.
I reach home thankfully, and tell my parents the whole thing.
They don’t believe me.
The sunrise comes along and it’s time for school. When I talk to my friends about yesterday’s events they actually believe me. They offer to walk back with me later.
After school, we go out for dinner and have a great time. As the hours passed by, the time to return home grew closer. We started the journey, until one of my friends stopped.
“I’m going to kill you,” something whispered to him.
We picked up the pace but had to stop once again when he hid in a washroom.
I heard him scream.
There was blood everywhere.
My friend was sprawled on the floor.
The paramedics started from the hospital, but they were too late. He died on the spot. The rest of my friends ran away, and I was left alone. I decided to run home, until I was tripped.
I was gravely injured, and my parents came to get me. They finally understood when I told them about my friend, and what happened to me. We arrived home safely, and I went to bed.
But I couldn’t sleep.
I heard creepy voices in my head. I felt something strange inside of me. Then I couldn’t move.
It felt like something was controlling my actions from the inside. I couldn’t talk. My eyes slowly turned red, like a devil’s.
I walked downstairs, and picked up a knife. I found myself walking to my parent’s room. As I brought the knife down, I looked away, while it entered their chests.
“You’re next,” a voice whispered in my head.
I watched the knife come down above my chest. There was moment’s hesitation as it hovered over my heart.
Then it plunged in, once, twice, thrice.
I felt myself fall.
