Alanna Grade 10
The sun and I don’t agree.
Even in quarantine, it is an unwelcome guest staring at me through the glass.
When the sky is pale and covered with clouds
And they melt into droplets that trickle onto my window,
I welcome these gloomy days with a smiling and adoring gaze.
I find that it’s easier to focus when the blinding light of the sun doesn’t turn me into a pale, glowing ghost.
The rain is a friend that always brings me comfort.
Hopefully, for the rest of this pandemic, the sun and I can social distance.
